"Lake Effect" Takes Spring 2010
Collegiate Quartet
Championship....By Storm!
Anchored by "Seneca Junction Chorus's" own Ryan Kasperski (Bass-2nd from left), "Lake Effect" Collegiate Quartet took home the 1st place trophy from recent District competition and qualifies for the Bank Of America Collegiate Quartet Contest being held in Philadelphia, Pa, week of June 28th through July 4th. College Quartets from all over the world will compete for the coveted 1st place trophy. The Collegiate Quartet Competition starts Tuesday night in Philadelphia. "Lake Effect" Quartet (representing Seneca Land District) is comprised of (from left to right above) Dave Melonson (Baritone) University at Buffalo; Ryan Kasperski (Bass) St. Bonaventure University; Matt Clancy (Lead) Alfred State College; and Mike LaScala (Tenor) Houghton College.
Each of these young men also contribute to other choruses and quartets within the Seneca Land District. Dave also fills in at Bass with "ESQ", this past years Quartet Champions, and with "Friends of Harmony" and "The Vocal Agenda", this years Chorus representative to Philadelphia from Seneca Land. Ryan sings Bass with "Seneca Junction Chorus", this Spring's 2010 Level A Plateau Champion and 7 time Plateau Champion. Matt also sings Baritone with "The Vocal Agenda" and currently Directs the "Maple City Chorus" based out of Hornell, NY. Mike sings Tenor with "The Vocal Agenda", as well as "Friends Of Harmony" based out of East Aurora, NY. "Friends Of Harmony" were this Spring's Level AAA Plateau Champion. Ryan, Dave, Matt and Mike also sing with "SLAM Youth Chorus" (young men under the age of 25), which recently placed 6th overall at this past Midwinter's Convention in Tampa!
We wish each of these young men "GOOD LUCK" as they travel to Philadelphia in June to bring home the 1st place trophy! Good Luck Men! By the way Men, nice shoes!
