The Seneca Junction Chorus is a "non-profit" entity and any male, age 14 and older, may join. We all share in the passion of accappella music and challenge each other vocally during our rehearsals. We sing many different types of songs and genres, including, but not limited to: Musicals, Broadway, Religious, Patriotic and Contemporary. If you feel you can add to our harmony, and are not limited by what types of music you can sing, please feel free to come listen and inquire about joining our chorus. Whether you are 16 or 81, everyone is welcome that can lend a quality voice!
Our Director, Skip Berenguer, has been involved in Barberhop Harmony for over 30 years. He has been in numerous quartets (currently "22nd Time"), winning District Championships with the "Esquire's" in 1983 as Baritone and then in 1993 as Lead in "Gold Rush". He has represented the Seneca Land District as a Quartet member on the International stage 5 times and had an integral part in the Warren, PA District Chorus Championship in 1981. Skip has also attended the BHS Director's College three times and has directed three choruses for a total of 18 years, the past 11 with Seneca Junction.
Seneca Junction Chorus just finished 3rd in the latest District Championship held in Rochester, NY., out of 12 District Choruses, winning the coveted Plateau "A" Level Championship for the 10th time. Plateau "A" Level is a chorus with under 35 registered members with the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Seneca Junction Chorus is "On The Move" within the District competitively, and we are always looking for talented singers with a quality voice. If you are interested, please come join us, for a rehearsal or two, to see if this is something you would enjoy.
Each member of Seneca Junction Chorus is registered with the Barbershop Harmony Society in Nashville, TN. The Barbershop Harmony Society is the parent organization for all Barbershoppers throughout the country. The address to the rehearsal location is 132 Prospect, Salamanca, New York, 14779. See Map below for our meeting location. It's right off Route 219 in Salamanca. Feel free to stop by and sing with us!
